How will you make an impact?

The Technical Proposal Writer is responsible for generating proposals for new customer programs at Brammer Bio, now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Proposals, as well as the necessary supporting documentation, are tailored to meet the specific customer and/or program requirements, including regulatory, technical and material considerations. In addition to generating proposals and supporting the sales process, this role also partners with Program Managers, Business Managers and the project teams to support the ongoing commercial needs for existing customer programs at Brammer Bio.

Location: Remote - Can reside in any East Coast location

What will you do?

  • Evaluating requests for proposals (RFPs) and participating in discussions with prospective clients to ensure a technical understanding of clients needs required for proper technical design of a program and development of an appropriate and strategic proposal approach
  • Coordinating inputs from key internal stakeholders, such as resource estimates, scope recommendations, etc. to allow the program design, proposal generation, resource and timeline estimates, and pricing required for a detailed and robust proposal
  • Providing additional support throughout the sales process, including:Converting proposals into Work StatementsProviding technical assessments/recommendations of potential project opportunities to identify suitable opportunities and prioritize workflowParticipating in project reviews to assess the project financial performance against the initial pricing assumptions, to allow adjustments to be made in future proposalsInterfacing with prospective clients, in partnership with Sales, during the initial contact stage to communicate technical capabilities, provide technical guidance, and discuss Brammer Bio's high quality and service standardsSupporting technical discussions during client visits, attending trade shows and events, as necessary, to represent Brammer Bio from a technical knowledge perspectiveGenerating Change Orders for ongoing programs to meet changing customer requirements, including working closely with Program/Business Managers and internal stakeholders to design, estimate resources and timing, price and generate Change Orders
  • How will you get here?


  • Masters degree in a relevant scientific discipline, Ph.D. preferred
  • Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Technical experience with viral vectors for gene and cell therapy strongly preferred
  • Previous contract manufacturing organization experience strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years of technical writing experience
  • Working experience with MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
