General Manager – Manufacturing / Production Manager / Chemical / Pharmaceutical / Consumer Goods The General Manager is accountable for the overall operational success of assigned service locations including associate performance, meeting client expectations, fiscal management and productivity outcomes. Essential Functions: Leading the Business
  • Assures implementation of laboratory policies, procedures and safety standards.
  • Develops and assesses operating procedures and processes that meet productivity standards.
  • Establishes and implements departmental policies, productivity goals and metrics.
  • Exercises sound decision-making that positively impacts the lab/team and is in the best interest of ATL, the associate and the client.
  • Collaborates with client account management teams to assess customer needs and plan operations.
  • Develops strategies to identify additional ways ATL can exceed client expectations.
  • Establishes and maintains professional business relationships.
  • Creates and implements performance standards and measurements.
  • Supports laboratory management teams to implement corrective actions for associate performance issues.
  • Lead operations while maintaining a budget
  • Identifies and recommends strategies to mitigate areas of risk.
  • Demonstrates and promotes company culture, mission and values.
  • Leading Others
  • Manages operational and associate activities of the service location including performance evaluations, recruiting & selection, associate engagement and career development.
  • Leads by example through exemplary practices of safety, service, presentation and efficiency.
  • Fosters a positive and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards at all times.
  • Leads with a positive attitude and demonstrate commitment to associates.
  • Ensures escalated associate performance concerns are addressed in a fair and consistent manner; provides support to manager to implement appropriate level of corrective action.
  • Inspires and motivates staff to go above and beyond to exceed client expectations.
  • Identify ways to remove barriers and operational improvements so associates can better meet client expectations.
  • Provides ongoing performance feedback, coaching, training and development for managers and associates.

  • Leads by example according to the service standards of ATL’s leadership framework.
  • Uses effective communication to relay information using the ATL brand voice which is optimistic, approachable and wise.
  • Identifies and appropriately addresses actions that do not align with our culture, framework and values to ensure a positive work environment.

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or closely related field or combination of education and professional experience required.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in an operational leadership or supervisory position required.
  • Experience from one of the following areas preferred: Consumer goods manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing or any industry in which raw materials must first pass through a certification process. 
  • Demonstrated experience and strong ability to lead and develop managers.
  • Experience managing a 24/7 production environment.
  • Experience leading front-line managers preferred.
  • Experience in GMP or cGMP laboratory setting preferred.
  • Exceptional problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication required.
  • Strong client service orientation required.
  • Experience building, coaching and developing teams. 
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize highly complex projects while meeting deadlines.
